You see the vision clearly, but you don't know where to start. It can all feel overwhelming, but the best way to move toward your goal is by browsing the internet to find the look that aligns with your dream design.
1. Choose Your Design - Find a few pictures online that you like. Is the fireplace linear or square? Is it see through to another side? Is it on the smaller side or a lot bigger? Once you are certain on the type of design, you can narrow it down on what type of unit you are attracted to.
2. Choose the type of unit you would like - gas, electric, woodburning. Once you know the fire type, it's easy to look at the fireplaces that match the look you love from step number 1. If you have a budget in mind, we can look the units that best fit your price and overall needs and wants.
3. Contractor check list - Find a contractor who can confirm all of the aspects.
- Do you need to do any demolition and reconstructing?
- Do you already have the wall and you just need to find out if your desired unit will work in that space?
- Is this a new build?
- Confirm where the electrical outlets or gas lines will be.
- Confirm size of unit and check with the gas fitter to confirm it can be installed in the space.
- If it's wood burning, has the space been inspected for proper venting?
- Confirm the carpenter can frame your fireplace.
- Confirm the stone mason can finish the project by bringing your design to life.

5. Hire your contractors and line them up to start in the correct order. It may vary depending on your design and space.
